Today is Thursday which is the weekend. (Thursday and Friday are the weekends here) Mike was my chauffeur and we shopped from about 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. We definitely have plenty to eat. We are a little leery about the Arabic Beef Sausage we bought and figured give it a try. Mike eats anything and he was pushing for Spicy Beef Franks to use for seasoning. No pork in Saudi. Cooking should be interesting. Everything is written in Arabic and on the flip side you can sometimes find English. It is a guessing game unless it is something we are use to from home and know the label.
We did go to the mall but that was uneventful. It always seems we show up just in time for Prayer. Everything shuts down for about 45 minutes. There is no in and out. You are basically STUCK.
Tomorrow we will venture out to find some home stores and hopefully we will have better luck in that department. Today we found abosolutely nothing.
While we were driving I took a few pictures.... you see we have Starbucks, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and several other places that my chauffer was zooming by. I did get him to pull over so I could take a picture of one of the many palaces along the way. It is amazing to see these large homes. I assume it is a family kingdom and the whole family lives together.
So that was all we did today and believe me in and out of the 115 degree heat it is exhausting. Hopefully we can fine some home furnishings tomorrow because today we were not successful in that area.
