Logging off of my computer so that I can pack my final bag and head to the airport..... be home soon!!!!!

Over due update......

Well I have been keeping myself extremely busy.  I am teaching dance classes 3 days a week and enjoying myself.  We are also preparing for a 1st b-day and 3 b-day this Thursday for Bella and Laine.  It is a 50's Rock n Roll theme at the bowling alley here on the compound.  We will have our poodle skirts, the guys will have the slick back hair with the exception of Mike!!!!  Maybe I could get him a wiglet for the day.

 

Thanksgiving was wonderful... the chef prepared a lovely menu and we had a group of about 16 that shared in our Thanksgiving lunch.

 

We had a Christmas get together last Wednesday at Arlene's house before she leaves for holiday.  It will start thinning out here on the compound as lots will be going home or traveling for the holidays.

 

Last night we had our first cookout on the patio with friends over.  Lots of food.....Chef Mike out did himself on the steaks and potatoes.  Now we are on a mission to find a butaine burner and turkey fryer so we can do some fried turkeys.

 

Since a few of our friends were traveling for Thanksgiving we will be have a home cooked dinner next Friday.  So our weekend is filled with lots of fun with good friends.

My tentative date of travel is December 16th

November 12th

just wanted to let all of my family and friends know that I had a virus on my computer so was trying to have limited email communication so that I wouldn't infect anyone else's computer.  I had the IT guy from the compound fix it for me and now I am back online.

November 2nd

Well Halloween was festive in Saudi.  I didn't have decorations or a costume but I definitely enjoyed myself.  I am already planning next Halloween and will definitely be better prepared with decorations and costumes for Mike and I.  It is hard to believe it is already November..... I will be home soon. (waiting on mike to return so we can make our plans) 

 

Today was our fourth dance lesson for the girls and boys.  I think they are really enjoying it but it is kind of hard without the proper shoes and attire.  I am also surprised at how fast they tire.  I guess it is a long day of school, swimming, piano, dancing etc.  Most are involved in several extracurricular activities.  Come Sunday though some will have ballet and tap shoes and I will feel so bad for the ones that didn't order. 

 

I am still in Saudi by myself... Mike will be coming in late Wednesday night and I will be meeting him in Bahrain for a golf tournament.  It will be a weekend spent in Bahrain so it should be fun.  Can be normal... no abaya, eat pork, drink etc.

I am so busy I just can't remember everything.

October 27th

Well it has been a little hectic the last few days.  Mike left for Houston last week and I have definitely been keep myself occupied. 

 

Last Wedneday I got Boo'ed so I was frantically trying to get my 2 Boo's out within the 24 hr time frame.  Then the few people that were Boo'ed weren't reciprocating so 3 of us got together and decided to Boo about 20 villas.  So we baked a lot of cakes and cupcakes, painted a few novelty items and shopped for Halloween trinkets (which are kind of hard to find)

 

I have been sewing a lot.... I made 5 Trick or Treat bags for some little friends and then made 3 costume dresses for some teenagers to be the PowerPuff Girls. 

 

Last Saturday I had Laine and Tristan over to bake cupcakes and they had to sample everyone they touched.  Very cute.  Think they had lots of fun.

 

I started dance classes on another compound for the girls 6 yrs old and under.  Very cute.  I think they are enjoying it but this week we are splitting the age groups. 

 

Tomorrow I will be going to a craft fair with about 30 vendors/booths.  Can't wait to see what kind of treasures I will find.

 

Well I will post pictures of the PowerPuff Girls/Boy and the cupcake baking.

Got BOO'ed

Well yesterday I went to check out the cake decorating classes and found another cool store with every kitchen utensil, pot, pan etc that you could possibly imagine.  Every chefs dream I am sure.

 

I have to wait 25 days for the next class to start.  Oh well.... I will get there one day.

 

Got off the bus and saw this cute little ghost sign on my front door and a precious glass jar painted like a pumpkin and inside was a note and of course treats.  So I had to BOO two houses/families within 24 hrs.  Well I started stressing because I just got back and the next bus was at 4:00 prayer time is at 5:13 no time to shop.  I got creative with stuff in my house.

 

I baked some mini pound cakes drizzled them with chocolate.  Wrapped a few in saran with a cute little pumpkin in the middle, put a few boxes of Mild Duds and crazy nose glasses I found to give out to Trick or Treaters.  Then the question was what to put this in to deliver.  I had started to make myself a shirt/dress out of Halloween fabric to wear on Halloween.  Well I took the shirt and cut it and made two Halloween bags out of it.  They came out very cute BUT I was so worried about getting everything done and delivered at dark I didn't take pictures.  I will have to look for the bags Halloween night and take pictures when they come Trick or Treating!!!!

 

Anyway that was my day yesterday.  Today is kind of quiet and Mike is at work although it is the weekend.  He will leave Friday and head to Houston for 2 weeks.  I hope I don't get tooooo lonely over here.
